Panache ("the Service") is developed and operated by Panache Technologies, based in Paris, France. This SERVICE is provided by Panache Technologies and is intended for use as described in our communications.

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. The Personal Information we collect is used solely for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

To provide the core functionality of Panache, when you interact with the Service within the Progressive Web App (PWA), we need to process certain information. This includes:

• Account Information: When you sign in using Google, we receive your basic profile information (like name, email address, and profile picture) from Google via Firebase Authentication. This is used to identify you within the Service.
• Conversation Content: The text messages you send and receive within a conversation thread, including interactions with AI agents, are stored in our Firestore database. This is necessary for the AI to understand context, maintain conversation history, and generate appropriate responses.
• Audio Data: If you use the voice input feature, the audio is temporarily processed by our Cloud Function (`transcribeAudio`) which calls the Google Cloud Speech-to-Text API to convert it to text. The original audio data is not permanently stored by default after transcription.
• User ID and Thread IDs: We use your unique Firebase Authentication User ID and automatically generated Thread IDs to associate conversations with your account and manage data within Firestore.

This information is processed to authenticate you, store your conversations, understand your requests, provide the AI-powered features, and enable voice interactions within the Service. We aim to minimize data collection to what is strictly necessary for functionality.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, our backend services (Firebase Cloud Functions, Google Cloud services) automatically record information ("Log Data"). This Log Data may include information such as your User ID (where applicable), the time and date of your use of the Service, the type of interaction (e.g., sending a message, starting a recording), function execution details, error occurrences, and system performance statistics. This data is used for monitoring service health, diagnosing technical problems, improving the Service's reliability and performance, and ensuring security.

Cookies and Local Storage

The Panache PWA uses `localStorage` in your browser for specific functionalities:

• Onboarding Status: We store flags (`onboardingComplete_{uid}`, `micPermissionGranted_{uid}`) in `localStorage` to remember if you have completed the initial setup steps and granted microphone permission for your account on that specific browser.
• Theme Preference: If you manually select a light or dark theme using the theme toggle button, your preference is saved in `localStorage` so it persists across sessions on that browser.

We do not use traditional HTTP cookies for tracking users across different websites. The `localStorage` data is stored only within your browser and is not automatically sent to our servers with every request.

Service Providers

We employ third-party companies and services to facilitate our Service, primarily:

• AI Processing: We use Google Cloud Vertex AI models (e.g., Gemini) via our Cloud Functions (`handleChatMessage`) to process message content and generate intelligent responses. Conversation content submitted is shared with Google Cloud solely for the purpose of providing the Service's AI features under their terms of service and privacy policies.
• Speech-to-Text: We use the Google Cloud Speech-to-Text API via our Cloud Function (`transcribeAudio`) to convert your voice input to text.
• Authentication & Database: We use Firebase Authentication for user sign-in and Firestore for storing conversation data.
• Infrastructure: We use Firebase Hosting for the PWA and Firebase/Google Cloud Functions for backend logic.

These third parties may have access to certain Personal Information only to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf and are obligated not to use it otherwise, according to their respective privacy policies.

Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it (e.g., encryption in transit). However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Our Service (e.g., within chat responses or on our website) may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information. This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Paris, France for any disputes arising out of or relating to this Privacy Policy or the Service.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
